For the wearer it is simply a watch on the wrist or worn as a pendant. It works on its own and does not need to be paired over Bluetooth with another device (it works with any SIM card, for example the free one included).
Family or carers pair the alarm watch with fall detection with the app by following the instruction video. In the app you set everything up and see the GPS location of your loved one.

The KUUS S4 alarm watch with fall detection allows seniors to live independently and safely at home for longer, without an expensive subscription. The S4 is a simple watch with a screen to read the time, a large SOS button on the front and an additional emergency button on the side. This allows the wearer to call for help quickly.
The S4 comes ready to use. You insert the SIM card, pair the watch once with the KUUS app and after about 5 minutes everything is ready to use.
Alarm watch without subscription, independent and SIM unlocked
The KUUS S4 is a subscription-free alarm watch. It works with an ordinary SIM card and is SIM unlocked, so you choose your own provider throughout Europe.

Family or caregivers use the free KUUS app for iOS and Android to set up the watch, view the GPS location, set up contacts and receive emergency notifications. The wearer does not need a smartphone. Everything runs through the SIM card and the 4G connection.
Fall detection and SOS button, double safety
The KUUS S4 is a watch with automatic fall detection and two SOS buttons, a large SOS button on the front and a smaller one on the side.
- When the wearer presses an emergency button, the S4 automatically dials the preset SOS numbers, up to 3 numbers in a row. If the first number does not answer, the watch dials through to numbers 2 and 3.
- If the watch detects a fall, fall detection automatically triggers the alarm. After a few seconds the S4 dials the preset SOS numbers, up to 3 numbers in a row.
The sensitivity of the fall detection is adjustable in the app, so you can limit false alarms. If it is a false alarm, the wearer can simply cancel it on the watch.
GPS location and safety zone
Through the KUUS app, loved ones can:
- retrieve the live location
- view the location history
- set a safety zone, with alerts on entering and leaving
Note that GPS indoors is less accurate than outdoors. The SOS watch uses GPS, Wi-Fi or LBS for the best available location.
Health mode: medication reminder
The KUUS S4 alarm watch is more than just an emergency button. In health mode it offers:
- up to 3 medication reminders per day.
The medication reminder plays as a voice prompt on the watch, ideal when medication is otherwise easily forgotten. In the app, family members can view daily steps and measurements if they wish.

Looks good so far. The only point for improvement would be that a clear alarm sounds for everyone who has the app, instead of just a notification.

This is about the S4 senior watch. At first I had some trouble with the installation. Customer service helped me with a video explanation. In the end it is all about accurate location and fall detection.
Excellent watch!
Bought for my mother because I arrange everything myself and did not want yet another system with a subscription. The good thing is that I get a notification straight away and can see her location. That gives a lot more peace of mind. The installation was easier than expected and my brother could simply follow along in the app as well.
My mother often leaves her phone at home. That is why this works much better. Handy that several family members have access in the app.
The help to get the watch working falls far short.
A pity there is no app for a blood pressure monitor, step counter and so on.
I was afraid it would be another one of those systems that you have to spend an hour setting up. Fortunately that was not the case. The most important thing for me was that my mother can use it herself without any hassle. So far that is going well and that gives confidence.

What subscription or other costs do I have?
The watch is SIM unlocked, you can use any SIM card. You do not need to take out a subscription. We include a free SIM card so you can start straight away. Monthly cost estimate: data for GPS and messages about 30 to 50 MB per month, roughly 0.50 to 1 euro per month. Outgoing calls from 0.09 euro per minute, incoming calls are free. The KUUS Watch app is free. Credit stays valid as long as you use the watch at least once every 90 days.
How does the SOS button, panic button or fall detection work?
The user can press the SOS button themselves in an emergency. The watch then calls the preset numbers. If number 1 does not answer, number 2 is called automatically, and so on. KUUS personal alarms and alarm watches also have a fall detection function. If the device detects an unexpected fall movement, it automatically calls the preset phone numbers. The user can cancel this if it is a false alarm. The sensitivity of the alarm can be adjusted. Please note: if voicemail is switched on, the watch cannot dial through to the next number. The watch thinks the call was answered. So switch voicemail off on the emergency numbers.
What is the delivery time, when is it shipped?

Does installation take long? What does plug and play mean?
Our senior watches and personal alarms come pre-programmed. You only insert the SIM card and pair the watch with our app. The rest happens by itself. Installation takes about 5 to 10 minutes if you read the manual. Prefer to watch an instruction video? You get that as well.
How long does the battery last?
That depends on how intensively you use the device. If you call more often or refresh the GPS location, the battery drains faster. The battery lasts 1 to 2 days, just like a smartphone. Charge it while you sleep. Maximise battery life by setting the GPS location update to 1 hour. You can always refresh the location manually in the app.
Do I have to switch off voicemail for the 3 SOS contacts?
Switch voicemail off on the 1st and 2nd SOS number. Why? If voicemail is on, the watch thinks someone answered. It then stops calling and does not dial through to the next number. So if you want the watch to call several numbers in a row, switch voicemail off on the SOS numbers. Another solution: use an extra SIM card as the SOS emergency number and switch voicemail off there too. This happens with all SOS watches.
