Are you looking for a way to film your RC plane? Then an onboard camera is a good option. With an onboard camera you can capture your flights and watch them back later.

There are various types of onboard cameras for RC plane modelling. The most popular option is an HD camera. These cameras have a high resolution and can record video with high quality.

If you're looking for an onboard camera for your RC plane, model helicopter or drone, it's important to know exactly what you need. Look closely at the camera specifications and choose the camera that best suits your needs.

What to look out for when buying an onboard drone camera

If you want to buy an onboard camera for your RC plane or model, it's important to keep a few things in mind. Below we've listed the most important points:

  1. Weight of the camera. Make sure the camera isn't too heavy, otherwise the RC plane or drone won't be able to fly correctly.
  2. Resolution of the camera. One of the most important things is the picture quality of the camera. Look closely at the specifications and choose a camera with a high resolution.
  3. Battery life. Look closely at the battery life of the camera and choose a camera with a battery life at least as long as the flight time of the drone or plane. Usually 60 minutes is already enough.

If you keep these points in mind, you can choose the best onboard camera for your RC plane or model.

It's also important to know how to install the camera.

How do you attach an onboard camera to an RC plane?

Most cameras can be attached using a special mounting kit. Some cameras come with a special mounting kit included, but this isn't always the case. Also make sure to attach the camera with a piece of foam or rubber so the camera doesn't vibrate while flying.

Buying a camera for a drone

With an onboard camera for an RC plane or model cam, you can capture the action from the air. These cameras are designed to film the action from the air. They're usually fitted with an SD card on which the recorded footage can be stored.

Some cameras are also fitted with an app that lets you watch the recorded footage back on your phone or tablet. This app is usually free to download. The cameras also feature a live-streaming function that lets you follow the action from the air in real time. The downside of live streaming is that the camera can't fly too far away, in most cases a maximum of 15 metres, after which it switches to recording via the memory card.

These cameras are ideal for hobbyists who want to film their plane in the air. They're also suitable for drone pilots who want to document their flights. With these cameras you can capture the action from the air and watch it back later.

What RC plane or drone cameras does KUUS offer?

KUUS offers 2 different mini cameras that can be used on a drone or plane. The main difference between the two cameras is that the footage from the KUUS C2 can be viewed directly via the app as soon as the plane has landed. Live footage can't be seen, as this only works if the camera is within 10 metres of the phone with the app.

The footage from the KUUS C1 can be read out by inserting the memory card into a computer, so also afterwards. The C1 doesn't work with an app.

KUUS. RC camera type Weight Resolution Battery life
KUUS C1 mini spy camera 10 grams 1080p 30 fps 90 minutes
KUUS C2 mini IP camera 34 grams 1080p 25 fps 150 minutes
